World’s First Smart Drilling Platform Certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV): The Deep Blue Explorer
The Deep Blue Explorer is the world’s first semi-submersible drilling platform, customized for deep-water oil and gas exploration and development in the South China Sea.
As the platform is designed to suit the environment of the South China Sea, it is suitable for oil and gas exploration and development in the middle to deep water areas, high-temperature and high-pressure formations and also, the ultra-deep buried formations of the South China Sea.
The platform has a maximum operating water depth of 1,000 meters and a maximum drilling depth of 9,144 meters. It merges the benefits of using traditional anchored drilling platforms and modern dynamic positioning platforms into one. It is also the first drilling platform in the world to achieve the smart certification from Det Norske Veritas (DNV).
The Deep Blue Explorer also uses the R6 mooring chain and related mooring accessories developed in China. These can effectively cope with harsh sea conditions, super typhoon threats as well as adapting to operations worldwide. It is especially suited for oil and gas exploration and operations in the South China Sea.
The Deep Blue Explorer is a collaboration between CNOOC and China Merchants Group. China has complete intellectual property rights on this platform and has research and development capabilities of such large-scale marine equipment. This definitely pushed the modern industrial supply chain processes to the next level in China!
Mintou No.1
This is the first semi-submersible fishery and tourism integrated deep-sea aquaculture equipment in China. It’s four functions includes: smart fishery, deep-sea aquaculture, production and research base, and leisure tourism. It is expected to produce 600 tons of high-quality yellow croaker annually with an economic value of 100M RMB. The main body of the platform is 92 meters long and 36 meters wide, with a movable deck area of 3,000 square meters and a breeding water body of 62,000 cubic meters. It integrates sonar, optics, video and other detection technologies to cover the entire marine ranch, transmit data in multiple dimensions. Through research and development of algorithms, an evaluation system is established to guide production and operation. At the same time, based on the spacious deck space and stable main structure of “Mintou No.1”, it is equipped with functional cabins such as sea view rooms, offshore restaurants, and smart conference rooms, as well as seawater desalination, sewage treatment equipment, and photovoltaic panels, realizing the multi-functional development of the aquaculture platform.
"Oasis of the Seas", "Queen Mary 2" and "Freedom of the Seas"
The anchor chains fabricated by AsAc are used on the luxurious cruise ships “Oasis of the Seas”, “Queen Mary 2” and “Freedom of the Seas”.
- Oasis of the Seas, 362 meters long and 47 meters wide. Its maiden voyage was on 1st December 2009.
- Freedom of the Seas, 339 meters long and 56 meters wide. Its maiden voyage was on 29th April 2006.
- Queen Mary 2, 345 meters long and 45 meters wide. The vessel was named by Queen Elizabeth II on 8th January 2004.
